        Based on the theory of the flux electric equilibrium in the induction motor,applying the principle of AC variable voltage variable frequency , using the properties of the controllably conduction in thyristor, The RMS voltage applied to the motor stator can be changed by controlling the conduction angle of the thyristor, Thus reducing the motor currents in the starting process.
        In the process of the motor running, according to the actual operation of the motor current,the soft starter adjusts the values of the motor terminal voltage when the motor is in the light load or very light load operating conditions, to reduce reactive loss of the motor, improve the motor efficiency ,and achieve the purpose of saving energy.

      SE300 series soft starters can choose the initial voltage effectively (showed in the curve point e), to ensure there is enough starting torque. Because the initial voltage is low, so can limit the starting current, and with the increase of rotational speed, the equivalent impedance increase of the motor stator, the terminal voltage can increase smoothly in a very low initial voltage, so can control the stator current in a small range.

Automatic energy-saving operation 
The relation table of the induction motor efficiency, power factor and load.

        When the driving system is woring in a high load rate, then the efficiency and power factor are high. Because of that it can not help to save energy. When the driving system is working in a light load rate, the efficiency and power factors are very low. The energy-saving soft starter can monitor the current and power factors of the motor and adjusts the value of the motor terminal voltage, to reduce the exciting current when the motor is in the light load or very light load operating condictions, to achieve the purpose of saving energy.   
       The soft starter can rapidly adapt the load changing during the running process, automaticly tracking the voltage and current change of the motor and adjust the motor terminal voltage to a good range, to reduce the reactive loss of the motor, improve the efficiency of the motor and to achieve the purpose of saving energy.

The output voltage of the soft starter is when the soft starter reaches the highest efficiency at the point U1-10% load operation.

Current amplitude limit function
The voltage slope control mode of the soft starter has a limit current function. After the soft starter starts, the soft starter output voltage is according to the preset slope from Uo gradually increasing, meanwhile the motor torque also gradually increases until the current to the limit value Imax. The current amplitude limit function action. The soft starter automaticly keeps this current operation. The current value will not effect by the slope time, it is only protected by the current amplitude limit inverse time limit mode. In the protect inverse time limit mode, the motor gradually increases the speed by the drive torque, until the motor speed to rated speed, the start action finished. The motor current will also reduce to load current, then the soft starter output voltage current will increase to power supply voltage rapidly. Otherwise, if the the motor current can not reduce to the load current in the current inverse time limit, then the inverse time limit action, the soft starter protection stops.  
EMI-RFI suppression technology
  On line filtering control technology can let the voltage and current waveform distortion of the soft starter reduce to the lowest. The EMI-RFI suppression technology has perfect protective design, it can reduce the higher harmonic that in the power grid effect to lowest.
